Shaleen Sutherland was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. As a child, Shaleen showed a desire to entertain by performing dances and plays for her family and schoolmates. After graduating in the program Social work, Shaleen decided to follow her dreams to pursue acting/ modelling. She began training at various acting studios within Toronto such as Armstrong Acting Studios, EVN Acting Studio, Lewis Laumander Acting studio and The Actorspace studio. In Los Angeles, she attended workshops for Allison Bader (casting director) which she was impressed with her dramatic scene and Tom Todoroff monologue technique workshop at the Santa Monica Playhouse. Also, She attended a Pilot Season full day workshop in Los Angeles which each actor was evaluated based on their monologue performance, first impressions, headshots from various casting directors/acting coaches such as April Webster, Lisa breach and many more. She is honoring her craft in commercials, short, feature films and TV series.
